The 4th Chinese Domain Name Innovation and Application Forum was held on April 20,2021. The forum is guided by ISC, and co-organized by CNNIC, CONAC, CNIC and Knet. More than 200 participants and representatives of government, Universities, Internet/Mail Service Providers, Registries and Registrants, civil societies and other Local stakeholders attended the forum.

Mr. Chen Kai, Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) delivered a speech, he said that the Internet in China has become an important driving force in promoting the stable development of China's economy. MIIT encourages and supports the application and development of domain names, in particular to consolidate and expand the global influence of Chinese domain names, and enhance the China's key Internet resources.

Mr. G?ran Marby, President of ICANN, addressed the value and significance of IDN and UA through video remark.

Mr. Sarmad Hussain, ICANN Senior Director of  IDN & UA Programs, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese local efforts on UA readiness via video remark.

During the forum, Ms.Pei Wei, the Deputy Secretary-General of ISC and the Head of CDNI, released The Test Report on Browsers Supporting Chinese Domain Names. The report follows ICANN-UASG's evaluation standards and metrics to conduct sampling evaluations on browsers. The next step, the CDNI will conduct random tests on more application scenarios of Chinese domain names, such as search engines, mailboxes, input methods, and social network tools.

The forum presented Ms. Pei Wei the "2020 Outstanding Contribution Award for the Chinese Domain Names Industry".
