A major earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County in southwest China"s Sichuan Province at 2:28 p.m. on May 12th， which had caused large death， missing and building collapse.

Facing this sudden disaster， China"s Internet community made quickly response， by all means helping the people in the disaster area.

On evening of May 16th， Internet Society of China jointly with its branch Network Artist Alliance organized a disaster relief charity performance， calling for donation to the disaster area.

About 20 domestic top Internet websites voluntarily offer the free online live broadcast to the performance including Xinhuanet.com， People.com.cn， Tencent， Sina， Netease， Qianlong， Hexun， Yesky， Vodone， UUsee， China Yahoo， ChinaNetcom， Ppstream， PPlive， BJradio.com.cn， 595.com， Xunlei etc. A lot of Internet compaies made donation in the ongoing performance.

Madam HU Qiheng， the Chairperson of ISC called for more public efforts and help to the disaster area people for struggling to rebuild their lives and communities.
